Guidance / PSCD whole day seminar

On Monday 28th November our Year 11 students participated in a whole day seminar organised by the Guidance and PSCD departments. The first part of the seminar was delivered by Mr Joe Zammit and explored social responsibility – taking responsibility for our actions, values and making better decisions in life. The second part was focused on career related skills, such as preparing for a job interview, writing of C.V.s, employability and reflecting on possible career paths. These sessions were delivered by our college career advisor, Mr Bjorn Spiteri, together with the Guidance Team.

After a tasty abundant brunch at the Urban Valley Resort, where the activity was held, students joined our school’s guidance teachers, PSCD teachers and career advisors for a mock job interview, which for most was a first-time experience. Students could volunteer to interview as well as observe the interviews of the other students, whilst also working through the PSCD workbook on the topics mentioned above.

We believe that it was a fruitful and an eye-opening experience for our students who shall soon be leaving our school to continue on their different career paths.
