Fun Run 2023

This was the second edition of the Charity Run organized by the National Sports School. This year, the school invited all disciplined bodies which included the Armed Forces of Malta, the Civil Protection, the Correctional facility and the Malta Police Force. They all participated in the run with the student/athletes and ran for charity. All students had the opportunity to speak and learn about their work.

President of Special Olympics Malta Dr. Lydia Abela said that such events help the children grow holistically. Head of school Mr. Robert Magro stated that through his experience in the National Sports School, he sees that such events helped the students to believe more in their capabilities and as a result understand the feeling of helping others and support.

The donation of ten thousand euros was presented to CEO Rennie Zerafa and President Angele
Cuschieri for Puttinu Cares. Pembroke Local Council Mayor Dr. Dean Hili was present and stated that the council is also happy to support these charity events. During such event, the school was also represented by the East Region under which the school pertains particularly this year as the East Region was chosen as the European Region of sport.

This was a special day not only for all the students but also for the parents that attended. There was also an interesting K9 dogshow as well as an Aikido demonstration from the Correctional Facility. Several popular singers were invited such as Amber, Aiden and Aldo along with Diane.

Meanwhile the Principal of the College Mr. Jonathan Attard expressed his satisfaction towards this school not only in the academic and sport to study, compete and achieve results but also stressed that such events encourages our young ones to promote charity and altruistic gests.

Hence, while the school is heavily investing in the quality of students both in academics and sport, the school is also the right place to celebrate commitment and beautiful values of life.
