The water polo players who attend the National Sport School have returned from a training camp held in Ostia, Rome.
They were given the opportunity to play against other teams, to train and to study. School coach and ex-national team member Niki Lanzon accompanied the students, as well as the Malta National Team coach Karl Izzo and assistant coach, Anthony Farrugia, the Head of the National Sport School, Robert Magro, and the Sports Manager, Claudio Azzopardi.
The students distinguished themselves by their enthusiasm and discipline. They agreed that training camps such as this one raised their performance standards locally.
The school is currently in discussion with other associations and coaches from other sports disciplines with the aim of organizing more of these kinds of training camps which offer students a holistic development opportunity.
