Early this year, a group of 11 NSS swimmers and Artistic Swimmers took part in a 4-day training camp at INSEP, Paris. INSEP is the National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance and it’s facilities cater for elite athletes. The 4 day programme consisted of a mixture of land and pool sessions guided by our school coaches Ms. Davina Camilleri (swimming) and Ms. Michelle Hubner (artistic swimming). The team had the opportunity to make use of INSEP’s top notch facilities and some even had the chance to meet and train with the French National artistic swimming team. The team were invited to the residence of Malta’s Ambassador to France, His Excellency Carmelo Inguanez. Here the students and coaches discussed their experience in Paris and also spoke about the training programmes that they follow in Malta. In between their vigorous training regime the students also had to opportunity to visit some of Paris’ significant places such as the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. No doubt that this training camp was an unforgettable experience for the team. The group was also accompanied by officials from the NSS Mr. Aurelien Cousin and assistant head Ms. Nathalie Williams.
