Animal Awareness 2023
On Wednesday 18th October, as part of our scholastic school calendar of events, the staff, students and their families celebrated Animal Awareness Day at our school.
The activity started off with the parents bringing along their pets for everyone to enjoy. All kinds of pets could be seen and heard during the first break and everyone was sharing experiences and appreciating these creatures. Students were made aware that pets have an important role in helping family members bond better by caring for their pets.
Ms Moira Delia was also present during the celebration and she gave students some valuable information as regards pet care. The students also donated pet food that was collected beforehand by each class. This was then given to the various animal sanctuaries across the island.
Animal Awareness Day came to an end after Fr Joshua celebrated mass and blessed the pets that were present.
The day proved to be a wonderful opportunity to instil in students some very important values, including the realisation that animals have their rights and the importance of loving and caring for our pets who do love us unconditionally most of the time.
