Last month, a group of Form 5 student-athletes attending the National Sport School, accompanied by their coaches, travelled to the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Gozo to promote the National Sport School through a Basketball training session which was carried out by the school’s student-athletes. The student-athletes boarded the 9am ferry to Gozo where they were awaited by transport, which was organized thanks to the Physical Education Education Officer Mr. Kevin Azzopardi, ready to take them to the Gozo Seminary. Upon arrival to the school, student-athletes and coaches were greeted by the Seminary’s PE teacher who welcomed the students and gave the National Sport School contingent a quick tour around the Gozitan school. This was followed by a 1-hour session between the school’s student athletes, coaches and a group of 25 Form 3 students from the Gozo Seminary. Student-athletes and Gozitan students participated in fun-games and skill challenges organized by the National Sport School athletes and coaches. The National Sport School looks to continue building its relationship with the Gozo Seminary through future collaborations and promotions via different sports and more student-athletes and coaches. After the session, the National Sport School contingent had a quick lunch before boarding the 12.45pm ferry back to Malta.
