The English examination for entry to NSS Year 7 will consist of one paper made up of two components, namely Reading and Writing. The table below shows the individual components, the duration and the weighting of marks each carry.  The Reading and Writing Exam is 1 hour 30 minutes long.

L-eżami tal-Malti għad-dħul fl-NSS fis-7 sena se jkun qed jikkonsisti f’karta waħda magħmula minn żewġ komponenti; il-kitba tal-komponiment u t-taħriġ il-fehem. Għall-komponiment se jkun hemm għażla ta’ tliet titli fuq it-tip ta’ kitba narrattiva u deskrittiva. It-taħriġ il-fehem se tkun silta ta’ madwar 300 kelma b’mistoqsijiet referenzjali, inferenzjali, u li jitolbu għarfien fil-lingwa. It-tabella ta’ hawn taħt turi d-dettalji, il-ħin u t-tqassim tal-marki. Il-karta kollha hija ta’ siegħa u nofs.  Il-karta se tkun minn 50 marka, fl-aħħar tiġi multiplikata ghal 100 marka.

The Mathematics examination for entry to NSS Year 7 will consist of one paper made up of 12 questions.  It is allocated 1 hour 30 minutes and carries a total of 100 marks.  The paper covers all the four strands of the mathematics syllabus, that is, Number and Algebra, Measurement, Space and Shapes and Data Handling.   The 12 questions are organised in two sections.

Section A

Question 1 (a to j)

 

This Section tests Mathematics knowledge: recall, recognise, order, compute, retrieve and measure.

1 hour          30 minutes 40 marks

Section B

Question 2 to  Question 12

 

This Section tests application and reasoning through routine and non-routine questions across the four strands of the Primary Mathematics Syllabus.

60 marks
