Each year the school holds an ‘Open Day’ for the parents of our current students as well as for parents of prospective students. During Open Day our guests experience a typical day in the life of the students attending the National Sport School and learn more about the school and what it has to offer young athletes who excel in their sport.
The day begins when our visitors gather in the school foyer to meet the representatives of the sports associations whose sports are offered at our school. Each association promotes its sport. Later on, parents of prospective students are given informative talks about the school and the special services offered to our students such as physiotherapy, sport psychology, podiatry and specialized nutrition lessons for athletes. There are also talks about the academic curriculum together with the various sports disciplines offered to our students.
Members of the students’ council show guests around the school: they visit the gyms, classrooms, laboratories, library and recreational areas. Our guests are then invited to follow and observe lessons and sport sessions and they also get to meet the coaches, teachers and support staff of the National Sport School.
Open Day is a wonderful opportunity for parents to get a snapshot of their child’s school day.
